--- TITLE: Overview URL: https://docs.linkembed.io/docs/get-started/overview --- linkembed lets you create custom, branded pages for your links. You can show content (e.g. Google Docs, Dropbox files, or any embeddable page) on your own link, organize links in folders, and use your own domain. Two main link types: embed links (content loads on the page) and redirect links (click sends visitor to another URL). You sign in, pick or create a workspace, add links with title and slug, and optionally use folders, custom domains, and password or email protection. --- TITLE: Quick Start URL: https://docs.linkembed.io/docs/get-started/quick-start --- 1. Sign in at linkembed.io. 2. Pick or create a workspace (slug appears in default URLs, e.g. myband.linkembed.io). 3. Create a link: title, slug, and either embed (https link or embed code) or redirect URL. Optionally set folder, password, or custom domain. 4. Copy the link URL from the dashboard and share it. --- TITLE: First Link Setup URL: https://docs.linkembed.io/docs/get-started/first-link-setup --- Embed link: use when the source allows embedding (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox); paste https link or embed code. Redirect link: use when the source blocks embedding (e.g. Notion) or you want a short link to another URL. Title = label for dashboard and browser tab. Slug = URL-friendly part (letters, numbers, dashes only), unique per folder. For embeds you can set scaling: small (400px), medium (600px), or fullscreen. Folder and custom domain can be set per link. Password protection: turn on and set a password; visitors enter it once to view. --- TITLE: Core Features — Links, Embeds, Custom Domains, Email Protection, UTM URL: https://docs.linkembed.io/docs/core-features/links --- Links: each link has title, slug, and is either embed or redirect. Slug must be unique in the same folder. Optional: folder, custom domain, password, or email protection. Embed scaling: small, medium, or fullscreen. URL format: yourworkspace.linkembed.io/my-slug or yourworkspace.linkembed.io/folder-name/my-slug; custom domain replaces the subdomain when set. Embeds: paste an https link (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox), direct media URL (.gif, .jpg, .mp4, etc.), or embed code from the provider. Only https allowed unless pasting embed code. Some platforms block embedding; see Limitations & platforms. Custom domains: use a subdomain (e.g. links.yourdomain.com), not apex. Add domain in dashboard, add CNAME in DNS pointing to linkembed target, verify. Then use domain as workspace default or per link/folder. Email protection: allowlist emails or domains (*@company.com); visitor enters email, gets one-time access link; access lasts ~1 hour in that browser. Cannot combine with password on same link. --- TITLE: Troubleshooting URL: https://docs.linkembed.io/docs/troubleshooting/limitations-and-platforms --- linkembed cannot bypass third-party embedding restrictions (X-Frame-Options, CSP). If content does not embed: check sharing (e.g. "Anyone with the link can view"), try "Publish to the web" for Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, or use the provider's embed code instead of share URL. Notion: not supported for embedding; use a redirect link. Untitled.stream: use their Embed option/code, not the normal share URL. Dropbox: we adjust links for embeds; ensure link is shared for viewing. pCloud PDF: download works; in-embed PDF preview may be blank. --- TITLE: FAQ URL: https://docs.linkembed.io/docs/faq --- What is linkembed: branded pages for links; embed content or redirect. Embed vs redirect: embed shows content on the page; redirect sends to another URL. Blank screen: usually source blocking embed or sharing too strict; check Limitations & platforms. Own domain: yes on supported plans; subdomain + CNAME, then verify. Workspace: project/brand; slug in default URLs. Password: turn on per link; share link and password. Slug: letters, numbers, dashes only; unique per folder. Notion: use redirect link, not embed. --- TITLE: Changelog URL: https://docs.linkembed.io/docs/changelog --- Product updates and improvements are listed here. New entries at top. For service status and incidents, see Status / Reliability. (Changelog may be empty; check the URL for current entries.)
